The Stirling came into squadron
service in mid 1941 and quickly became popular amongst the crews
who manned it. Called "the gentleman's aircraft" by
many, for it's ease of handling. Before becoming leader of the
RAF's 'Pathfinder' force, Group Capt. Hamish Mahaddie flew over
50 missions in the Stirling. Signed by Hamish Mahaddie. |
