Heinz Krebs
1929 - 2013
Heinz Krebs was raised and lived in Southern Germany where he ran his commercial graphic arts studio during the day and spent most of his free time either flying or painting. He was a passionate aviator, a commercial pilot, and flying instructor with nearly 10,000 hours of flying time and almost 20.000 landings to his credit. He flew more than 50 different types of aircraft ranging from 35 different types of gliders to DC-2s and jet fighters. But all his life he had one other love besides his flying: Fine Arts: Especially painting in oils. What made his aviation art so unique was that, being able to draw on his life-long experience of both subjects, Heinz was able to convey in his unique style, true portraits of flight full of romance, action, and drama. His original paintings and prints are sought after all over the world. Heinz's fine art print editions have been authenticated and further enhanced by the personal signatures of many of the world's most historically significant aviators. This artist was blessed with a stunning natural talent, his ability was simply breathtaking. The one thing, however, which had always fascinated the early bird Heinz Krebs was to combine his two most-loved activities in life, and create: Aviation Art. |
